Well was just thinking about this and wondering if we could really do this! A google search showed that the longest forum thread ever has 170,000 + replies and runs into 10,500 pages. However in this kind of a thread no person is allowed to post continuously (that means No spamming by a single person) although you are allowed to continue a conversation and also post whatever you feel like for example jokes, shayari's funny pics or whatever. Now the thing is, can we do it on DDF? How long is it gonna take to create History by having the longest thread ever in forum History on this forum? Is it actually a good idea to go in for this kinda challenge? What are your views on this? Speak up people!

OK Guys & Gals!!! This is it! The 29th of April '2007, 8'o Clock IST and we start with the LONGEST THREAD EVER IN FORUM HISTORY!!! We are Gonna do it and we are gonna set this record! There are bound to be a few rules if we gotta do it and so :

1) NO SPAMMING : Max 5 number of replies allowed from a particular member continuously! Any further than that will be deleted!

2) NO FLAMING : Please do not Abuse / Flame! This will call for an immediate suspension of the member!

3) NEWBIES : Newbies utilizing this thread for completing 50 posts so that they can access certain sections will attract an IMMEDIATE BAN! So please refrain from doing so!

4) GOAL : The goal of this thread is to set a Record for the longest forum Thread Ever in the History of Internet Forums but keeping within the Forum Guidelines and Rules!

So Let's go and Do it DDF'ites! Lets show the Internet World what we can DO and the strength and the togetherness of our Community!

Its a hard one ..but we can surely make an attempt..infact we should search for longest thread on DDF and make it active again,...that way it will be a lil easier...joke threads can last a long time ..but thing is replies in there are kinda Spammy..a discussion thread is well almost impossible to take that far ..unless we discussion 100 topics in one thread

Waise the whole idea is to take it real real further! What say if we have the longest thread in Forum History and we get it into a book of world records! Wouldn't that be cooollll! And yeah there are certain rules for doing that too (Now aren't there always ). Thats why I thought of taking suggestions here cause it is you people who can and should be wanting to do it. Main to sirf saath nibha sakta hoon

I think we can do it .... hmm..DDF is not the most active forum in world so it might take a lil longer but we can definitely do it.
Jokes threads and pic threads and not my kinda thing ....

So Either Bump an old thread that is active
or we need to come up with a thread dat everyone will enjoy being a part of.

Do you have link to longest thread in world?
I mean we can defo use that thread to learn from it and observe how they managed it.
Coz it sounds simple but actually its not.
Copy pasting jokes and stuff is easy and is kinda Spammy...Discussion cant go dat long ...may be we need a hybrid thread or somethin??

A thread where we share useful stuff (music , avatars, siggys, links to imp. info) coz we have guys like prisoner who are very good at posting info..then we are all kinda into music (music lyrics thread)

Or we can organize it in parts,,

May be post music for a week or two ..then discuss something for sometime..then info time for a while ..basicly a thread which can swallow a lotta stuff

I have the link but then you have google Don't wanna be warned for advertising here and like I said about starting fresh... We do it our own way... The DDF way!

Discussions can go a long long way (Kus's Virgin thread is a BRIGHT example of that ) Feel free to discuss as long as no flaming is involved.

Well, according to me, the fun part is gonna be all of us wanting to do it together and then doing it... without actually sidelining the forum rules about spamming and stuff... Might take a while to do it... But then I can wait... I'm still 17

Rules can be not to post more thn 5 replies by each member ... for instance a member can go to 3 4 5 pages posting avtaars and pics but limit to max 5 replies...
But an exception can be .. a member can quote n number of replies...
i think this rule will help us to stop the spam part in the thread...
And PB it will faar better if u start the thread... Wht say Bro lets get goin... or rather wait til 12 and thn start at least kal tak toh woh red rahega
