I was/is regular to this forum but in past couple of months, i have seen many of regular & dedicated members (more than 100) who always shared quality stuffs, left this forum due to various reasons such as lack in replies and appreciation for their postings, bias towards few members, biased moderation in many cases, internal group formation by few members.

I also almost stopped posting here in past month due to same reasons mentioned above.

Isnt this a time to evaluate quality and quantity of this forum before it die down in such a way that no medicine can work after that?

I am surprised to hear that. I was absent from DDF for more than 6 months. now that i have come back i find it better that wht it was at that time. The thing is its a human tendency to get bored of things, but if that things pulls u back again then that means it has got quality. From wht ever u have mentioned above, i can safely say that DDF is like a fig family, and there are some rotten apples in this family for sure but that does not mean this family wont survive.

I can see more ads on ddf from the last time and thats a tell tale sign that this forum is surviving and how.

i think the topic is a bit of an exaggeration, though i don't deny involvement has gone down from earlier
anyways, i can assure u on behalf of the Management that the Mods & Admin wld b more than willing to look into any of ur concerns or any points u have to make
u r a respected poster, so i wld be greatly interested in hearing what u got to say
same with posters like Taz, Codeguru, Cruiser51, Choody, Sriram, Scyther, Satan, XmrDDx, Sikka, Bihariatal

i'll pull no punches & answer each of ur queries in a very straight forward way
hope u show the same frankness in bringing up issues

1st of all, more than 100 is a gross exaggeration..by far, i won't even argue on that..but agreed, some ppl have not been regular
2ndly, lack in replies & appreciation, the Management is as concerned as u abt the same...wld u care to venture any feedback / suggestions on how to improve that?? i never go to any other forums, so i wldn't know, but are they faring any better?
3rdly, bias towards few members?? plz be frank & mention whateva names u have in mind...as far as i know, the Mods are not at all biased to any of the members
4thly, biased moderation?? we wld b glad if u expound on the same, no worries...speak freely,...if u r pissed off at me or any of the other Mods, say so openly & we'll try evaluating urselves to see where we r going wrong
5th, internal group formations...this has happened & can't be helped in anyway...if things get out of hand, we have to do what is best for the forum

ok, i'm frankly very much ready for the evaluation
& all the Management team wld b very glad if some of the regular posters came down here & gave their views
if u want, we cld even consider pinning this topic in Desi so as to get maximum views

my own take on the falling involvement is that it's b'coz of more choice of forums to members, they have no loyalty anymore
plus the fact that lots & lots of reposts happen and leeching of other ppl's topics (mainly by Mou Das)
and cluttering of the Desi section (lots of suspects out there, a suspension each day in the last 4 days)
The Management has been actively discouraging point 2 & 3 as i just pointed in brackets
the 1st point we can't help

so here goes, i've been as frank as can be, even mentioning some names
u want more info what the Mods have been doing, feel free to ask

I was honestly saddened because of this situation and thats why i started this thread. I always believe that any forum is made good/vibrant or bad by its members only not by management or moderators. And if good members (having more than 80-90K) reputation points and more than 6K postings not just leaving the forums but joining similar kind of forums as VIP or whatever capacity means something going wrong very badly. If you think that my estimate is wrong of more than 100 DEDICATED and most activate members almost left DDF, then i can give you better proofs also.

One thing i feel that DDF was better when we were having everything not just porn. Nowdays it became just porn forum not a cafe kind of environment, it was just a year before. Porn is addictive but not the life and people gets bored with it sooner or later. If you remember correctly, many porn forums died sooner or later on internet (i can give u few big porn forum names).

Nowdays, almost nobody is posting in music sections
almost nobody is posting in non-porn movie sections
almost nobody is doing any serious chitchat in this section

Those days are gone when internet was just for porn or email, If anybody wants porn, they can get it even from google search. So forums must change with the changing times (nowdays internet is a serious medium not just for emails or porns). So in my personal opinion, some serious thinking is required to make DDF more vibrant forum.

as for having everything, we still have all the same things
just Hollywood movies rn't allowed anymore
plus we got newer features like Blogs & Sudoku

Internal group formation has to do a lot with the members leaving us, their motives are clear, to suck members out of DDF.
I myself am member on external forums but i like to devote time to a particular board based on quality of the posts and number of active members and DDF Ranks # 1 in my charts on any given day and it will forever.

Members need to be a bit more sensible especially KP. But she a young teen and sometimes should be allowed to act her age, mods please consider this.

One of the most obvious ways to bring life back to DDF is by starting various competitions, we saw longest thread prosper under PBz Creative Mods. DDF Sticker making battle thing saw some members who were rarely active ( Leechers) come out and show their creativity. Some of the possible competitions that i can think of are "Reply of the day/week/month/year/decade/century ". I can come up with millions of these and i am sure Mods like PB will be ready to burn their valuable brain cells for the betterment of our forum.

Luring members by providing some extra features/powers to members of certain group (Grand masters probably :evilgirn: ) can also boost forum activity. Some of the features that can be introduced are :- Ability to see " The members viewing this thread", Members in Invisible Mode, Delete/Edit their own post.

I was really excited upon introduction of Lifestyle and Discussion sub-forum.
I used to check them out regularly but not anymore, one the reasons being that you have to wait days to get couple of replies.
Most topics die before hitting puberty (Page # 2 ). I do remember the time before the introduction of Discussion sub-forum, all discussion threads were located in Chit Chat and we had like 9 pages of discussion within 8 hours. The fact is most of the members never step out of Chit Chat / Masala forums. We need to figure out ways to boost all around forum activity. I myself am active only in CC coz rest of the sub-forums are almost dead and dull.

KA, no i wont make suggestions .. GOD!! Ur Mod, Its good to use ur brain sometimes.

Past, tell me one forum where Jokes section and some some other sections that do not contain porn get updated frequently (PM - Don't mention it here! ). We have one of the most Rocking Desi Sections on the internet. We have a decent enough Videshi section. Our CC section is the best compared to any other forums with nearly 500,000 replies - almost double the replies in the Videshi Porn section. Yes things do slow down at times - but that does not mean that the forum is dying! Your concerns have been noted and if you wish to pass on any other suggestions or talk about it send across a PM to me or any of the Mods. I am closing this topic!
