South Asian And East Asian Couples, Why still so little?? |

It's quite rare to see a romantic coupling between East and South Asians, e.g. Chinese/Indian couples, especially between South Asian women and East Asian men. Such seems to be the case particularly in the West, like USA and UK. Could you think of the reasons why? Do Indian/Pakistani/Sri Lankan women not find East Asian men attractive enough to date or marry, compared to other non-South Asian men?

Nice thread.
I am gonna neglect the Language barrier assuming that other person is Canadian/US Born. I don't really find the tiny features attractive.  Cultural differences can also play a part in it. DONT FEEL LIKE TYPING AN ESSAY HERE. |

Cultural differences are too many. The moment you see a Chinese / Japanese, (even though later you may find out he speaks good English), first reaction is Oh God.....we can't communicate.
As long as China was fully communist, (in a way it still is), in any case its citizens were not allowed to marry outsiders and in general......Japanese and South East Asians have always been sort of 'far away' for Indian sub-continent. This post has been edited by cruiser51: Oct 24 2007, 02:45 AM |

It is to do with discrimination. Very subtle. We all like to say we are nondiscriminate sexually, racially, religiously, caste, money, etc but we all do. As long as you label yourself with an identity of somthing such a country, you are already a racist. The internet is an interesting thing, we cannot see each other but we communicate on a virtual (subtle) way. Maybe you will have differences of opinions if there was a webcamera on this screen connected to yours. Our eyes decieve what our hearts desire. So the answer to the question is to see where your own heart lies, and not what you or other eyes see, no matter what other hearts feel. Then anything is possible. Example, was Jesus African Black ?
